Can you use headphones to listen to music on kindle fire? by Cynt Q: Can you use headphones to listen to music on the Kindle Fire? I like to listen to music but don't wont to disturb others. Is this possible?

A: No problem. On my Kindle Fire, I find two stereo speakers on the top edge, and the bottom edge has the power button, charging port, & a standard headphone jack on the bottom.

If I would purchas a Kindle Fire, do I need to also become an amazon prime member? by Catherine Q: I am looking at purchasing the new Kindle Fire, but I was looking up information on it and it had mentioned something about being an amazon prime member. Do I need to purchas this in order to order books off of the Kindle or can I still purchas music, movies, and books without it?

A: Hi, Catherine, no you don't have to become a Prime member, can still purchase stuff without it. However, I'd recommend you to take a look at recently announced Nook Tablet from Barnes & Noble - it's been getting rave reviews and it is the best device in it's class - much better than Kindle Fire. It's got Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, Angry Brids, etc., the best battery life, the best screen, the most RAM and space for apps/photoes/movies, and it weights less. Also, If you walk in with the Nook to Barnes & Noble store, you’re allowed to read ANY available eBook for free while in the store via free provided in the store Wi-Fi and you get free technical support in case of issues in any of the store. In addition, Nooks (since Nook Color) are the darlings of the root'ing community especially because they have microSD slot (not on Kindle Fire) thus Nooks can be rooted by burning OS image on the microSD card and booting off it without rooting the actual device and voiding the warranty. On Kindle, once you rooted there's no coming back. Rooting could help you overcome that "parent company syndrome"... You can buy Nook’s at Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Millon, Walmart, BestBuy, Staples, OfficeMax, Fred Mayer, P.C. Richard, Radio Shack, Target, Fry's, etc. stores and web sites.

Can I root a Kindle Fire to be able to use a wireless, bluetooth keyboard on it? by taylertot Q: I recently got a Kindle Fire for my birthday. I was planning on buying a tablet, which now seems pointless. Since the Kindle Fire does not have Bluetooth capability, I cannot utilize the tablet keyboard I had already purchased (I wanted the tablet to take notes in classes, requiring the use of keyboard). Is there a way to root the Kindle, give it Bluetooth capability, and be able to use the keyboard on it?

A: no bluetooth is HARDWARE, you can't just root a device to give it bluetooth.

What are the pros and cons of a kindle fire? by Taylor Q: My daughter's birthday is coming up, and I wanted to get her a kindle fire. She is turning 11. What are the pros and cons of a kindle fire for an 11 year old? Please stay off the topic about spoling her...

A: Take a look at this review on Kindle fire, should help you out on this Decision: http://budurl.com/KindleFireReviewed Pros for Kindle fire would be: - Cheap price tag - Decent amount of features - Internet browsing with flash support - Tv shows and tons of movies - 1000s of children illustrated books - Good amount of apps for children Cons: - No camera or mic - No 3g/bluetooth - No tv out

What does rooting a kindle fire do and what are the effects? by Alex Q: I want a kindle fire for my birthday and rooting seems like it makes it better. What does it do and does it have effects? Is it worth it?

A: rooting give you admin rights so you can install custom software.

Is there a difference between kindle and kindle fire? by TT Q: I want a kindle for Christmas, but I was wondering if there's a difference between a kindle and a kindle fire. Because I've heard that a kindle just has books, and a kindle fire has books and apps that you can get.

A: Hello TT, Kindle Touch ($139 without ads) or Nook Simple Touch ($99 without ads) are e-Ink devices for reading and not video/web/apps while Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet are LCD/IPS screen devices for video/web/apps but not too much for reading. Ads-supported Kindle models show full page ads to you (and everyone around you) every time they go to sleep mode and also show 2 line ads right there at your home screen - so annoying that Amazon even released a software that for $30 can convert ad-supported Kindle into non-ad-supported one. Non-touch screen Kindle models are such basic stone age devices (with page turn lag, buttons, and black blinks/flashes on each page turn) that I would not even speak about them. Nook (unlike Kindle) supports eBooks in ePub format that is the universal format most used in the world. Current e-Ink Nook Simple Touch has the latest generation touch screen display, no page turn lag, it weights less, its battery lasts twice as long (two months on one charge), it has microSD slot and it doesn't blink on each page turn - much better than current Kindle 3 or Kindle Keyboard. Nook Touch is still better designed than even the new Kindle Touch with battery lasting two months with ONE hour reading a day with Wi-Fi off thus it's still twice as long as new Kindle's two months with HALF and hour a day with Wi-Fi off. It looks like Kindle didn't get any battery improvement in the new model, they only changed the test condition. Nook Touch and Nook Color and Tablet (unlike Kindle) have microSD card slot to take a card (class 6 or above) up to 32 GB. Nook Tablet is $224 if sign up for Barnes & Noble membership or $250 without signup. Nook Tablet is clearly the superior device over Kindle Fire. Not just 11.5 hours battery life but 9 hours of video playback time - that's vs. 8 hours for reading and 7.5 hours of video playback on Kindle Fire (even that 7.5 hours will not hold true in tests, video playback drains battery much more than reading) 1.0 GB RAM Vs. 512 MB RAM of Kindle Fire, 16 GB content capacity plus 32 GB via microSD card vs. 8 GB capacity of Kindle Fire with no expansion slot. Fully laminated HD screen for reduced glare vs. no lamination of Kindle Fire. Bulit-in and optimized Netflix and Hulu plus with millions of movies/shows vs. 100K movies/shows of Amazon store. Nook Tablet has built-in mic for Skype voice conferencing and dictations to speech recognition software, very smooth video playback with excellent screen, and very fast apps load. Nook already has Cloud as all eBooks in your online library are stored there as well as downloaded to your device. Also, If you walk in with the Nook to Barnes & Noble store, you’re allowed to read ANY available eBook for free while in the store via free provided in the store Wi-Fi and you get free technical support in case of issues in any of the store. You can buy Nook’s at Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Millon, Walmart, BestBuy, Staples, OfficeMax, Fred Mayer, P.C. Richard, Radio Shack, Target, Fry's, Kmart, Sears etc. stores and web sites.

How do I know my Kindle Fire Hd is charging? by audry Q: I just got the Kindle Fire Hd, and I have it turned off and plugged up to the computer. The screen is black, so how do I know if it's charging?

A: It's quite troublesome that they take around the indicator light on this new Kindle Fire model. You get to check the battery status on the device, or you can install an app for workaround of this issue. Here are those details: http://www.amazon.com/forum/kindle/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&cdForum=Fx1D7SY3BVSESG&cdThread=Tx5U459JOB654D&creative=390957&linkCode=ur2&tag=kndfjh-20 Hope this helps.

What is the difference with the new small kindle and the kindle fire? by zal3nt Q: I am just wondering as a small silver one has just been released in the uk for £89 and I have been reading up and it says theirs a kindle fire on the way? is their much difference between the two and is it worth getting the two or can the fire read books too?

A: Hi, zal3nt, Kindle Fire is not available in UK - Amazon confirmed that you cannot download/stream anything to Kindle Fire when traveling outside US. Kindle Touch or Nook Simpletouch are e-Ink devices for reading and not video/web/apps while Kindle Fire or Nook Color are LCD screen devices for video/web/apps but not too much for reading. Pick which screen and functionality you need but consider my points below before you make a decision. The only E-ink models I would take into consideration are Nook Simpletouch from Barnes & Noble and the new Kindle Touch (non-ad-supported) that both cost $139. Ad-supported Kindle models show full page ads to you (and everyone around you) every time they go to sleep mode and also show 2 line ads right there at your home screen - so annoying that Amazon even released a software that for $30 can convert ad-supported Kindle into non-ad-supported one. Non-touch screen Kindle models are such basic stone age devices (with page turn lag, buttons, and black blinks/flashes on each page turn) that I would not even speak about them. Nook (unlike Kindle) supports eBooks in ePub format that is the universal format most used in the world. Current e-Ink Nook Simpletouch has the latest generation touch screen display, no page turn lag, it weights less, its battery lasts twice as long (two months on one charge), it has microSD slot and it doesn't blink on each page turn - much better than current Kindle 3 or Kindle Keyboard. More, Kindle Touch still flashes black on each page turn while Nook Touch reduces the flashing by 80%. Nook Touch and Nook Color (unlike Kindle) have microSD card slot to take a card (class 6 or above) up to 32 GB. If you walk in with the Nook to Barnes & Noble store, you’re allowed to read ANY available eBook for free while in the store via free provided in the store Wi-Fi. Before you think of getting a Kindle Fire, here's some limitations of it that you need to consider: - Kindle Fire doesn't have microSD slot that, for example, Nook Color has thus it is stuck with 6 GB usable internal storage unlike Nook Color that can get up to 32 GB card in. Kindles are made tomake sure you're tied up to Amazon's storage on the web (for which you need Wi-Fi connection to get to) and you can only store content you get from Amazon there, not other files. Quoting Amazon on Kindle Fire: "Free cloud storage for all Amazon content". Get it, Amazon content? - The stats of how long the battery can last (Kindle Fire theory is 7.5 hours) are taken with Wi-Fi off. It will last only about 3 hours if you use it to access content from their Cloud storage over Wi-Fi. - Amazon can spy on your web activity through their new cloud-integrated web browser of Kindle Fire. – lack of microSD slot means that if you decide to root your Kindle Fire, you’ll have to root the actual device thus there will be no coming back. On Nook Color, you can make it boot from a “rooted” microSD card and if you want to get back to the original Nook you can just take out the card and reboot. - Kindle Fire doesn't have a camera. - Kindle Fire has about 70% less usable screen area than iPad 2. - Kindle doesn't support eBooks in ePub format that is the most used format in the world. - Kindle app store contains only Amazon approved apps and it does not include (and will not include) Netflix app that iPad has and Nook Color is getting thus again you're stuck with Amazon content only. - Amazon confirmed that you cannot download/stream anything to Kindle Fire when traveling outside US. - Amazon says it will review every app in its Appstore for Fire compatibility, as part of an automated process. Rejected apps will include those that rely on a gyroscope, camera, WAN module, Bluetooth, microphone, GPS, or micro SD. Apps are also forbidden from using Google's Mobile Services (and in-app billing), which, if included, will have to be "gracefully" removed. In terms of actual content, Amazon has outlawed all apps that change the tablet's UI in any way (including theme- or wallpaper-based tools), as well as any that demand root access. - I'd recommend waiting for Nook Color 2 that is rumored to be released by Barnes & Noble shortly.

How do you use the camera on a Kindle Fire? by Theresa Q: I just found a camera in the upper left hand corner of my Kindle Fire. Now how do you use it?

A: I'm sorry, there isn't a camera on the Kindle Fire. What you thought was the camera is actually an ambient light sensor. Hope this helps! (:

Why does the Kindle Fire has a camera hole on the top left front of the screen? by Cach Doan Q: Well, I know the Kindle Fire is not suppose to have a camera, but I really see there is something like a camera on the top left of the screen. Since any edge of the front side of the Kindle Fire can be the top of the Kindle Fire, I will explain which top I'm talking about. Position your Kindle Fire so that the power button is at the bottom side. Now, look on top left of your screen, do you see something like a camera? Or what is it?

A: Hi, Cach, the reason for the whole is that Kindle Fire is one underpowered piece of scraps of old RIM PlayBook tablet hardware that had the camera so there's the hole although Fire doesn't have the camera. Nook Tablet is way better - it's performance smokes Kindle Fire in all pro reviews specifically on video playback, the screen quality, and how fast apps load.

How do I change the background on my Kindle Fire? by Random Person Q: I just got a brand new Kindle Fire and the bavkground on the lock screen is an advertisement. I was wondering if there is a way i can remove that.

A: Kindle Fire HD is ads supported. In order to remove the ads, you get to pay for a fee, otherwise the "offers" thing will just appear on the lock screen. Some times you can see good offers, like amazon mp3 credit. You can remove the ads on Kindle Fire, see here for steps to have it removed: http://www.amazon.com/forum/kindle/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&cdForum=Fx1D7SY3BVSESG&cdThread=Tx2PFBADISB9E86&creative=390957&linkCode=ur2&tag=kndfjh-20 You can also change the background when you're reading. See here for details: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&linkCode=ur2&nodeId=201009460&tag=kndfjh-20#text Hope this helps.

How do you delete books on the Kindle Fire HD? by MyKidsMom Q: Does anyone know how to delete books from the Kindle Fire HD? The Kindle Fire HD DOES NOT have a five way controller! So some of your suggestions wont help! Thx though!

A: Here are the steps: 1. On the top navigation bar, choose "Books", then select "Device" 2. Tap and hold the book you plan to delete, for a few seconds 3. You'll see an option "Remove from Device". Tap on it and the book will be removed from your Kindle Fire HD. It'll remain in cloud as archived book, so you can download to your Kindle Fire HD later. To remove the book permanently from cloud drive, see here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&linkCode=ur2&nodeId=200875610&tag=kndfjh-20 So you must go to Manage Your Kindle on Amazon site to have your book permanently deleted. But you won't be able to re-download it later. Hope this helps.

How can i download books onto my Kindle Fire without amazon? by Asad Q: Is there a way for me to download a book from the internet and then put it onto my Kindle Fire?

A: Sure. Find any eBook out there, just make sure it's in Kindle format or Mobi format. Download it to your computer, then take a micro-usb cable and connect your Kindle Fire to the computer. To your computer, it looks just like a USB thumb drive. Then drag and drop the book over to the Kindle Fire. I believe it needs to go in a folder called Documents or Books.

How in the world do you delete Kindle books from a Kindle Fire tablet? by tsakalauskas Q: When Kindle books are on a Kindle Fire tablet and you have finished reading them, how do you delete them? I have a micro USB wire that attaches to my desktop computer, but still, I can't get rid of the books that I don't need anymore.

A: If you purchase an ebook from Amazon, you own it. It is in your Amazon "cloud." Go to "Books" on your kindle, and at the top you'll see "Device" and "Cloud". If you select "cloud", you'll see everything you've purchased on Amazon. If you select "device," you'll see only those items that are actually downloaded from your "cloud" onto your kindle itself. If you want to remove the item from your Kindle itself, hold your finger on the book title until a little menu comes up, where you can select "remove from device." When you do that, it removes the book from the Kindle itself and you will no longer see it when you select to view items on the "Device." However, the book will remain in your Amazon "cloud" because you own it, and Amazon saves everything you own for you in case you'd like to put it back on your Kindle. If you've uploaded something from your computer onto your Kindle (movies, pictures, documents, etc) that you didn't actually purchase from Amazon, those items are not actually in your Amazon cloud and will be permanently removed from your Kindle when you select "remove from device."

How do i get my kindle fire off blank screen? by Shan D Q: my kindle fire went into stand by mode and when i turn it on its just a blank screen what do i do?

A: I don't have a kindle fire, but its the same for most tablets. Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds, so it forces it to turn off, then turn it on normally. It should be working again. If not, contact amazon.

How to get out of Fastboot mode for Kindle Fire? by J Q: I'm stuck on the kindle fire screen and don't know what to do. I've tried to press the power button, but it just goes back to the kindle fire screen. How should I get out of Fastboot mode with the Kindle Fire?

A: Hello J, that is just one of many reported issues with Kindle Lemon. Other problems are that it runs hot to touch, video playback is jerky, touch screen is not responsive and it takes 2-3 touches to register, power button placement is very poor and is prone to accidental power off, all the hype of Silk browser is not true where the browsing is actually slower than on other Android tablets, Wi-Fi connection gives a lot of trouble to users on it, etc. Amazon's own web site has hundreds (almost 1800 so far) of reviews of Kindle Fire's new owners that gave it 1 or 2 star reviews because of choppy/laggy experience they got from this underpowered device. Just return it and get Nook Tablet instead - it is MUCH better than Kindle Fire - it's like day and night in terms of the device performance. All pro reviewers on the web clearly voiced that Nook Tablet is a much better device with superior performance compared to Kindle Fire. It's got Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, Angry Brids, etc., the best battery life (30% better than Fire), the best non-glare laminated screen (not lamination on Fire), double the RAM and space for apps/photos/movies than on Fire, microSD slot and a microphone for Skype (not on Fire), physical volume controls on the side (not on Fire), very smooth video playback with excellent screen, and very fast apps load (unlike on Fire).

What is the difference between an iPad and Kindle Fire? by ツ Paяty Poison. Q: Is Kindle Fire just as good?

A: Comparison between Kindle fire and iPad 2, should help you out on this Decision: http://budurl.com/KindleFireOrIPad iPad is the better device for sure. But when it comes to the price. You do need to think twice. On the other hand Kindle fire is a cheap tablet which would be able to do most of the things. Ipad does have few things which Kindle fire would not give you: - You have the 3g model too. - Camera and mic - Over 500K apps - A bigger screen I would recommend you to go for the Kindle fire if you dont wanna spend too much and still want a good tablet!

How do you root a kindle fire? by Zachary Harner Q: I've been trying to root my Kindle fire to android 4.0 but I don,t know how to. I've heard about 1 click rooting but I don't know if to works. If it doesn't can you like a walkthrough video or walkthrough forum?

A: Just days after the Amazon Kindle Fire HD started shipping, some of the first customers figured out they could root the tablet and install the Google Play Store. Now there’s an easier way to root the tablet… and a method for installing Gmail and other Google apps without even bothering to root the Kindle Fire HD. check this and see it helps or not: http://liliputing.com/2012/09/easier-method-for-rooting-the-kindle-fire-hd-or-installing-gapps-without-root.html

What do you do if your Kindle fire lock screen is frozen? by Sophia Clueless Q: I got a kindle fire for christmas and I turned it on but when I went to slide to unlock nothing happened. The screen isn't exactly frozen it just wont respond to touch? Can you help? Thanks!

A: If it just respond touch then what are you waiting for just touch the screen and unlock the kindle fire.

How do I change the background on my Kindle Fire? by Mommy2B Q: I hate the drab "grey bookshelf" motif on my Kindle Fire. How can I change it? How can I make my apps appear as tile on the screen instead of the page presentation?

A: The grey shelf background is a function of Amazon's Silk browser. I've downloaded Opera on my Kindle Fire and rather enjoy the tile screen menu format. I first downloaded Getjar (a free app), and found Opera as a free download at that site, among many others. Here's another discussion and source. http://www.kindle-fireforum.com/forum/amazon-kindle-fire-general-discussions/813-best-browser-ive-found.html

What type of box does the kindle fire ship in? by Audi Q: I've heard on amazon that it just ships in the regular box that says kindle fire on it. Is that true? and if it is, how can i get amazon to send it to me with another box on the outside?

A: mine just came in the mail, it comes in a nice sealed cardboard box that says kindle fire on it, it is then shipped in a bit bigger box with big bubble wrap pieces surrounding for safety.

Would a kindle fire be a good gift if the person receiving it isn't used to any other handheld device? by Ashley Q: I've heard a lot of pros and cons about the new Kindle Fire. But most of the cons I've heard are from people comparing the Kindle Fire to their old kindle devices and ipads. I'm getting the kindle fire for someone for Christmas, and the only thing they own that is remotely similar is the iPhone. Will this Kindle Fire be a good gift? Or is ignorance not really bliss?

A: The Kindle Fire would be a great gift. The Kindle Fire is a tablet just like an iPad. The features of it are completely different than that of the iPhone, as long as the person doesn't have another tablet yet, it'll make a great gift. Merry Christmas!! P.S. Go Google "cheap kindle" to find a discount on the Kindle Fire. Save yourself some money =]

How do you like the screen on the Nook Color and Kindle Fire? by Zach Q: I am considering getting either the Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet in the next month or so. I'm concerned about the screen display on them though since they aren't like the e-ink. I was wondering what everyone's experience has been with the Nook Color (since the tablet hasn't been released yet) and the Kindle Fire, if anyone has one of those yet. Also, for those that read right before bed time, does it affect you falling asleep?

A: Hi, Zach, reading off LCD screens of tablet device is practically the same as reading off a computer screen. Nook Color (and Nook Tablet as well) has a better VividView technology screen with non-glare coating that makes it a bit better than on others, but it is still not as eye-stress-free as of e-ink devices. In my opinion e-Ink Nook Simpletouch and LCD Nook Tablet from Barnes & Noble are much better devices than comparable Kindle models. Nook tablet is $224 if sign up for Barnes & Noble membership. 11.5 hours battery life for reading and 9 hours of video playback time - that's vs. Many popular apps in Nook app Store (like Angy Birds, Pandora, QuickOffice, etc.) Nook Tablet has built-in mic for Skype voice conferencing and dictations to speech recognition software. Richard, Radio Shack, Target, Fry's, etc. stores and web sites.

What is the most durable case for an amazon kindle fire? by Nat Chow Q: I tend to drop electronics. I have an otterbox for my cell, it works wonderfully. However they don't make one for the kindle fire. Are there any comparable cases out there? I also want it to have a stand so I can watch movies without holding it. Thanks.

A: Kindle Fire Leather Case Cover by Marware in Black color is the best right now. It doesn't changes the shape much, looks beautiful and elegant on the kindle fire. So I would recommend you to go for that one, here are some cases for kindle fire: http://budurl.com/KindleFireCases

What is the circle in the top left corner on the Kindle Fire? by Cat Lady Q: I just got a kindle fire for Christmas, and in the top left corner there is a circle that looks like a camera, I know it's not one, but i just want to know what it is.

A: That's a hole from RIM Playbook's camera (since Kindle Fire uses scraps of old RIM hardware.)

when you cant choose between a kindle fire and a tablet which should you choose? by Ciarra Lalles Q: When you can't choose between a Kindle Fire and a Vizio tablet which should be chosen?

A: hi Ciarra, Vizio tablet is cheaply made with poor support while Kindle Fire is a known lemon with ton of problems. Did you know that often reported problems with Kindle Fire are that it runs hot to touch, video playback is jerky, touch screen is not responsive and it takes 2-3 touches to register, power button placement is very poor and is prone to accidental power off, all the hype of Silk browser is not true where the browsing is actually slower than on other Android tablets, Wi-Fi connection gives a lot of trouble to users on it, etc. I can recommend Nook Tablet in the same price range. Nook Tablet is much better without a doubt, it's a class above Kindle Fire in the same price range. All pro reviewers on the web clearly voiced that Nook Tablet is a much better device with superior performance compared to Kindle Fire. It's got Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, Angry Brids (and thousands more apps in Nook app store), the best battery life (30% better than Fire), the best non-glare laminated screen (no lamination on very reflective Fire screen), double the RAM and space for apps/photos/movies than on Fire, microSD slot and a microphone for Skype (not on Fire), physical volume controls on the side (not on Fire), very smooth video playback with excellent screen, and very fast apps load (unlike on Fire). Nooks already have Cloud as your ebooks and apps that you get from Barnes & Noble and 3rd parties are stored in your online library as well as downloaded to your device. You can get Nooks at all the places where Kindle is sold - like BestBuy, Target, Staples - besides Barnes & Noble stores. One pro side by side review to check out: ENGADGET Both devices rock 1GHz dual-core processors, but the Nook has an edge here, with its 1GB of RAM to the Fire's 512MB -- and certainly the difference is noticeable, even when booting up something as simple as a game like Angry Birds. Things are even more pronounced during video playback. We took Shutter Island for a spin via Netflix streaming on both devices, and it was really like night and day. Motion is far less choppy on the Barnes & Noble device. The HD playback on the Nook also picked up subtle imagery like patterns on ties, which were largely lost on the Fire

How can I make Jorte calendar work with Kindle Fire? by Jean Q: I got Kindle Fire rooted and everything seems to be working well. However, when I installed Jorte calendar to use with my Google calendar, it won't sync with my google calendar. When I go to Options-Select Calendar, "Select Calendar" and "Choose Calendar" radial buttons are all greyed out. Those are the ones that user can choose which Google calendar to sync. How do I make this work? Thank you.

A: You need the google sync api and calendar app to sync with google cal. Check out: http://www.esotech.org/blog/technology/install-android-marketplace-and-google-apps-on-amazon-kindle-fire

How to fix the page numbers on my Kindle Fire? by AllyCat Q: My dad recently gave me his Kindle Fire because he bought himself a new tablet. Every time I buy a new book from amazon the page numbers are wrong. He doesn't recall if the page numbers have always been messed up. We bought it not even a year ago. For example, a book that is 400 pages shows to be anywhere from 3000 to 64000 pages in the location bar. The book isn't really that long so page one is always a high number. The percentage works on the location bar. This is really annoying. How can I fix the page numbers?

A: Unfortunately, the 1st generation Kindle Fire doesn't support page number right now... It only has location. You can see this is improved on 2nd generation Kindle Fire. It has page number: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&linkCode=ur2&nodeId=201009660&tag=kndfjh-20#location Let's hope amazon will upgrade the 1st generation Kindle Fire software later.

How to transfer music from Kindle Fire device to cloud? by .... Q: I downloaded music from mediafire onto my kindle fire device. How do I transfer it to the cloud from the device?

A: In the music tab, there should be a way to select your music files and say sync to cloud when you hold your finger down on them. You can do with entire playlists as well. Or you could simply plug Kindle Fire into your PC and copy songs off manually and upload to cloud.

Is a Kindle Fire or a Nikon camera better to own? by Jeanie Q: I am debating between a Kindle Fire or a Nikon COOLPIX 16 Megapixels 6x Opt zoom with a 2.7 LCD screen. Both the Kindle Fire and the Nikon camera are really great, but I don't know which electronic would be better to have. This may be a dumb question but I would like to know!

A: I prefer that you go for the kindle fire since it has more features, the bigger screen and you can enjoy a lot of things like: - You can watch movies - Tv shows - Internet browsing - Book reading - Magazines - Over 18K Apps - Facebook, twitter, youtube etc. While the coolpix would only allow you to get the videos and pictures which is totally based on your preference. If you like it than get it! Here I found a good review on kindle fire: http://budurl.com/KindleFireReviewed

How do I delete everything on an old kindle fire so I can resell it? by Austin Q: I was thinking about selling my kindle fire because i really don't use it all that much. So how can i wipe all of my data off of it so i can?

How do you delete books and apps off the Kindle Fire Cloud? by Kendall =] Q: I just got a Kindle Fire and I know how to delete items from Device but I want to delete them off the Cloud tab. Thank you!

A: To delete most items from your Kindle Fire, press and hold the item and tap "Remove from Device" or "Delete." To permanently remove a title from your Kindle account (this is the only way you can have an item not show via the Cloud on your Kindle Fire): 1. Locate the item you wish to delete in the Your Kindle Library section of Manage Your Kindle on you PC/MAC (www.amazon.com/manageyourkindle). 2. Click on "Delete from Library" in the "Actions" menu to permanently remove the title. After the title is removed from your account, you will no longer have access to re-download this title unless you re-purchase it. Existing copies of this title already on your device must be manually removed. Once you delete your books/apps from your device, go to settings and select sync, this will sync your Kindle with your account (cloud) and you should no longer see what you deleted from your Kindle. Have a great day.

How do you use a US version of Kindle Fire in the UK? by Judy Q: So I have a Kindle Fire and my family is planning on going on a BIG trip to the UK and I need to know if I can still use the Kindle in the same way. And if I can charge it in the same way or if I have to get something different. Okay, thanks alot!

A: It would work outside US if you dont change your billing address. Although some features like Cloud storage would not work as its not in UK for now. Some videos and tv shows may not be accessible due to the copyrights issue. Other than that you can use the games, apps, movies etc which are already on Kindle fire. You would be able to use the internet but not sure about amazon silk browser. Here you would be able to find some good FAQ's on Kindle fire: http://budurl.com/KindleFireQA

What happens when you root a Nook Tablet or a Kindle Fire? by Kenzie Q: I've been hearing that a lot of people have been rooting their Nook Color, Nook Tablet, Kindle Fire, etc. I heard that rooting lets you access the full Android Market, but that's all I know. What is rooting, and how do I root devices? I have a Nook Tablet and my mom has a Kindle Fire.

A: Rooting is kind of jailbreaking your iPhone... Or Modding your Xbox/Ps3 OR Hacking in to your wii etc... It allows your tablet to access any kind of place and you can than use its full capacities.. Both are easy to root but I prefer that you go for the kindle fire for being the cheaper one... Here is a good review on the kindle fire vs nook tablet that would surely help you decide the better one: http://budurl.com/KindleFireOrNook The kindle fire price tag can be found here: http://budurl.com/KindleFireBOffer While if you prefer the nook tablet than you can get the price tag for it here: http://budurl.com/NookTabletPrice

How do you download roblox on kindle fire? by Mahlan Webb Q: I just got a kindle fire from walmart, and I play ROBLOX. Any way I can combine them into a roblox playing kindle?

how to tell the updated kindle fire from the older version? by Brittany Q: So I received a kindle fire as a gift(it was bought in store) and I was wondering if there was a way to tell if it was the newer updated one vs the older version? The copyright date on the box is 2012 but I assume they were still making the older versions in early 2012. I read the newer ones have ads, i don't see ads on this.

A: Just check the system version on your Kindle Fire. The Kindle Fire 2nd Generation (the newer version) has version number starting with 10, while Kindle Fire 1st Generation has it starting with the number 6. Here you can find details on the software update number: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&linkCode=ur2&nodeId=200529680&tag=kndfjh-20 I believe yours won't be Kindle Fire HD right? The Fire HD can be easily recognized, as it has a front-facing camera. Hope this helps.

Is it practical to leave my phone home and rely on getting my text messages through the Kindle Fire? by The Hermit Q: I rarely actually talk on my phone. However, I send/receive about 40-50 text messages per day. If I decide to get the Kindle fire, would it be practical to rely on using the web browser to send/receive text messages through my email account? Is there some extra fee for this? I don't want to carry two devices around everywhere. Thanks.

A: No John, that would not be possible because the kindle fire does not supports 3g. That mean that you can only use WiFi to connect to the Internet through Kindle fire, Although the 3g feature is available in kindle touch, so you can use that anywhere in to contact anyone via Internet. The cost of this 3g would be the same price which we pay for the internet on mobile to the network provider. The kindle touch would be able to provide you email option on 3g network. For this reason I would recommend you to get the kindle touch instead, see what is the difference between all version of kindles and decide: http://budurl.com/WhichKindleBetter

How long is the battery life on the Kindle Fire? by Chelsea Q: Hey guys, I am thinking about getting the Kindle Fire. There are some questions that I have: How long is the battery life for you guys? I want to make sure I can take it on trips without bringing my charger with me. Also, is the processor fast? Does it lag or anything like that? Thanks alot!

A: According to Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0051VVOB2/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0051VVOB2&linkCode=as2&tag=code0cf0-20 The kindle fire battery life is approximately 8 hours of continuous use. The processor is also fast, it has a dual core chip to eliminate things like lag. Good luck!

How long does a kindle fire battery power last? by Mary Q: i am going away on a plane for about 2.5 hours. i was planning on watching a movie that is a little over 2 hours. will my kindle fire have wifi and will i last that whole time within dying?

A: You won't have wifi, as very few planes offer wifi for the passengers. If you can download a movie into your Kindle Fire, then, after turning OFF the wifi to preserve battery-life, you should have several hours worth. I plan to do the same for an upcoming trip this Spring.

What is the difference between a 8GB and a 16GB kindle fire? by Deezy Q: I am going to buy a kindle fire and I want to know what the difference is between a 8GB and a 16GB kindle fire.

What type of apps and games will the Kindle Fire have? by Brayden Q: I was planning on buying a Kindle Fire when it comes out and I was wondering what sort of games and apps will it have. Will it have as many goods apps like on the iPad 2?

A: Hi, Brayden, Kindle App store currently has about 16K apps (no Netflix, of course) while iPad's iTunes App store has about 500K apps - you do the math. Kindle Fire does not allow apps from Android Market place thus you're only stuck with apps allowed by Amazon. Amazon says it will review every app in its Appstore for Fire compatibility, as part of an automated process. Amazon confirmed that you cannot download/stream anything to Kindle Fire when traveling outside US

How can I get books from my kindle onto my kindle fire? by Britney Q: I just got a new kindle fire. Both kindles are registered to the same name. What's the easiest way to take the books from my old kindle and get them onto the kindle fire? Thanks!

A: Did you just copy the books from your old Kindle or your PC to your Kindle Fire? If so, that's why they won't work, they're coded to a specific device. Just go to the cloud tab under books on your Kindle Fire, all of the books you purchased on your account should be there. Or go to Manage Your Kindle page on http://amazon.com and send them to your Kindle Fire.

How to get an american kindle fire to work fully in the UK? by toni Q: My dad bought a kindle fire for me when it wasn't available in england. I am now trying toto get it to work fully in england. When I want to buy things its in dollars. Can I upgrade or convert the software. Also when I try and play music it says Exception #101 the specified device could not be authenticated.

A: There're two discussions here from some actual users, for using Kindle Fire from US in the UK: http://www.amazon.com/forum/kindle/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&cdForum=Fx1D7SY3BVSESG&cdMsgID=MxMWOS377VI1ZM&cdMsgNo=1&cdPage=1&cdSort=oldest&cdThread=Tx1NW3J8LFJJ8NJ&creative=390957&linkCode=ur2&tag=kndfjh-20#MxMWOS377VI1ZM http://www.amazon.com/forum/kindle/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&cdForum=Fx1D7SY3BVSESG&cdPage=1&cdSort=oldest&cdThread=Tx3UZDHY0ZCBC96&creative=390957&linkCode=ur2&tag=kndfjh-20 Music should work without problem. Just you may not be able to get books that are not exported to UK, it's just the same as actual books. Hope this helps.
